“Met with friends, prior to the November lockdown. As usual, had a FANTASTIC meal! Great service and wonderful choice of wine, we are so lucky to have such an amazing “pub” in easy reach. I started with the ROMESCO, GRILLED FIG & TOASTED ALMONDS…. it was absolutely heavenly! Then had the warm salad… so delicious, full of flavour and great textures….why is it you can never make such interesting vegetarian dishes at home? And finally, the Lemon and Thyme Posset was fabulous…. totally …… I loved it! Hope the new lockdown goes by quickly. Looking forward to the Christmas menu and would like to send very best wishes to all the outstanding staff”.

“We are one night in to our two night stay and already know we chose well. We’ve travelled across the country to find somewhere close to visit my grandparents from a distance. We were looking for something friendly, good food (we are big foodies), cosy and relaxed. The Carpenters Arms is exactly all of the above. Very COVID safe, staff are friendly and informative, the room is clean, tidy and modern but traditional. Lots of parking, quiet. It’s just lovely. The perfect escape from our normally very busy lives. We will definitely be using this hotel/pub again and will be recommending to the family. Thank you to the team here!”
